antlers/national - boston

entering with average expectations, but leaving a die hard fan. the nationals boston appearance was amazing. June 4th at the house of blues in boston they demonstrated their laid back but still kick ass approach to a fantastic new album. I don't know who was better though; the main performance, or their opener. The Antlers delivered a surprise show that completely surprised me, don't let their meek appearance fool you, they pack a punch of meaningful lyrics and insane keyboards riffs. theres a really sad/interesting story behind their album; hospice, that manages to easily infiltrate your body and tell itself, as long as your willing to listen these guys won't dissapoint. shifting gears - matt berninger is the man. and as a dude im not afraid to say that his voice is damn sexy. plenty of classics from boxer, but also plenty of new stuff (bloodbuzz ohio 10/10) high violet was eerily good.
the drunk couple groping each other next to me could not distract from the quality of the album and the power it had over everyone in the audience. - this concert was 2 weeks ago but the music is still buzzing in my head - jolly good show
